CAHF Seeks Board Candidates
Are you an experienced professional and business leader with a passion for affordable housing? Please consider applying to be a Board member of the Calgary Affordable Housing Foundation.
CAHF is looking for additional Board members ready and willing to help govern a fundraising organization focused on helping more Calgarians have a place to call home.
CAHF will celebrate one year of operations this spring, and the organization is accelerating on all fronts. We are currently partnering with three affordable housing providers to build three affordable housing projects. CAHF is focused on raising capital via fundraising in community, and our partners are focused on building and operating affordable housing. Our organization evolved out of the former RESOLVE campaign, which raised $75 million for 22 affordable housing projects. Calgary remains in the midst of a housing crisis, and CAHF and partners are working to serve the city’s most vulnerable populations.
The Board is gradually transitioning from an operations focus to a governance lens as the management team takes over, with fundraising and community advocacy a priority for the organization. If you are interested in contributing to alleviating the housing crisis in Calgary and working alongside other committed Calgarians, we invite you to consider serving as a director on the CAHF Board.
CAHF has committed to raising $10 million per year, building to this goal over several years. All funds raised by CAHF are leveraged 10:1 through government grants and other funding opportunities. Annual fundraising will support the build of more than 300 new affordable homes each year.
CAHF is seeking Directors with diverse backgrounds and experiences, including those from the legal, energy, finance, innovation and technology, philanthropy and community sectors. Board members participate in regular committee meetings, quarterly board meetings, an annual general meeting and ongoing fundraising.
